Leads & Leashes

All leashes have the same basic construction. Leashes for medium and large dogs (e.g., Whippets and Greyhounds) are 1 inch wide, use solid brass hardware, and are available in a choice of colors and lengths. Leashes for toy breeds (e.g., Italian Greyhounds) are lighter weight, use brass plated hardware, and currently are available in black only.

Leashes for Large and Medium Dogs

The picture above is pretty close to life size, except the leashes are a lot longer, of course! These 1-inch leashes are available in the following colors:

Red
Hunter Green (shown above)
Cobalt Blue
Black (also available in 3/4-inch width, in black only)

As can be seen in the picture below (if you look very closely) the leashes are made from woven nylon, and are doubled over (two layers thick) along the entire length of the leash. (They are 4 layers thick at the ends where the snap hook is attached and where the hand loop is formed.)

Leash Lengths and Prices
The standard lead is a "traffic lead" -- approximately two feet long. The price, including shipping within the USA, is $22.

Longer leads are available upon request. Just tell Karen how long you want it, and she'll make it for you. Add $2.00 per foot for the extra length. For example, a 4-foot leash is 2 additional feet, so add $4.00, for a total of $26.

Leashes for Small Dogs ("Toy" Breeds)

Leashes for small and toy breeds have the same sturdy construction as the larger leashes. (We'll eventually get a better photo.) These leashes are currently available only in black.

Leash Lengths and Prices
The standard leash length for small and toy breeds is four (4) feet. The price, including shipping within the USA, is $10.

Longer leads are available upon request. Just tell Karen how long you want it, and she'll make it for you. Add $1.50 per foot for the extra length. For example, a 6-foot leash would be $13, including shipping within the USA.

Integrated Collar and Leash

This Integrated Collar and Leash comes with a permanently attached leash with a slider to adjust how tight the collar is and to allow it to be easily put on and taken off. It is available for dogs of all sizes.

Prices
This is a little complicated! The price for an integrated collar and leash is less than if the collar and leash were purchased separately (not integrated).

First pick out the collar and trim you want, and determine what it would cost based on the collar price list, and then refer to the table below.

For a standard (2-foot) leash, add $15 to the price of the collar you want.

Example 1:
Suppose the collar you want would normally cost $55, and you want the collar with an integrated standard (2-foot) leash. The cost of the integrated collar and leash would be $70 ($55 + $15).

Example 2:
Suppose you want the same $55 collar, but with an integrated 6-foot leash. This is 4 feet more than the standard length in Example 1, so you need to add $8 (4 feet times $2.00/foot) to the price of Example 1. The total price would be $78 ($55 for the collar, $15 for the integrated leash, and $8 for the additional length).

For a standard (4-foot) leash, add $7 to the price of the collar you want.

Example 1:
Suppose the collar you want would normally cost $45, and you want the collar with an integrated standard (4-foot) leash. The cost of the integrated collar and leash would be $52 ($45 + $7).

Example 2:
Suppose you want the same $45 collar, but with an integrated 6-foot leash. This is 2 feet more than the standard length in Example 1, so you need to add $3 (2 feet times $1.50/foot) to the price of Example 1. The total price would be $55 ($45 for the collar, $7 for the integrated leash, and $3 for the additional length).

In all cases, first determine the collar price, including all discounts and additional costs. For example, there are discounts for buying two or more collars at a time, and there are additional costs for some trims. (These are just examples -- there are other discounts and other additional costs.)

Then use this table to determine the total price of the integrated collar and leash.

Solid Brass Snap-Hooks for toy Breeds

Karen stocks a supply of solid brass snap-hooks perfectly sized for use for Italian Greyhounds and other "toy" breeds. They are currently available in one size only: 1.75 inches long, as shown below.
